Hong Kong’s Times Square shopping mall kicked off a series of BLOC 28 exhibitions this past Thursday. Falling under Disney’s creative umbrella, BLOC 28 sets out in combining age-old Disney favorites under both unfamiliar and contemporary settings. Most notably has been the transformation of characters such as Mickey Mouse under the careful manipulation of several high profile artists and writers. A popular artist known for his mosaic style, the soft-spoken David Flores was on hand for the launch in addition to PJ Palijo from Disney’s toy segment and John Fiscellla, founder of BLOC 28 and the head of the fashion segment.
