According to Vulture, Jeffrey Deitch, founder behind one of our favorite galleries Deitch Projects is set to oversee a new role as the director behind the Los Angeles MOCA. The move is a revolutionary one in which American art institutions rarely look to gallery owners for directorial positions however Vulture see this is a good move with Deitch providing the necessary change to revamp a stuttering MOCA. Among Deitch’s accolades which combine both the creative and business side of things, he holds an MBA from Harvard, has worked as a vice-president at Citibank but has the obvious in backing and understanding art and creativty with Deitch Projects. All in all, his ability to manage the relationship between art and business with undoubtedly be his greatest asset.
