Obama to make case for economic plan in prime time

President Obama will call on Americans to look to the future with a "renewed confidence that a better day will come," in his second prime time news conference Tuesday.

President Obama will update the country on the state of the economy in his prime time news conference. "We will recover from this recession," the president will say, according to excerpts of his opening remarks. "But it will take time, it will take patience, and it will take an understanding that when we all work together; when each of us looks beyond our own short-term interests to the wider set of obligations we have to each other -- that's when we succeed." Obama, seeking to rally up support for economic plan, will tell the country that his administration has put in a place "a comprehensive strategy designed to attack this crisis on all fronts." "It's a strategy to create jobs, to help responsible homeowners, to restart lending, and to grow our economy over the long term. And we are beginning to see signs of progress,"
