SILLY THING Toys has been the talk of the industry since its establishment. Following their Bounty Hunter and The Beatles interpretations, SILLY THING Toys gets set to yet again launch a triumphant collaboration, this time with Marvel Studios and Hong Kong-based Hot Toys. Marking the very first time that they have authorized an original customized version of its characters, Marvel allows SILLY THING founder TK to work up a special colorway, utilizing the 1/6 Mark III as his base. One of the figures highlights includes the use of rare “battle-damaged” paint, which called for a figure re-creation considering the paint would not adhere to the original plastic surface of the Mark III platform. A release is scheduled for July 4th, 2009 via THINK SILLY Hong Kong.

Adding to their already impressive lineup for Fall 2009, Vans unveils a new pack of their classic Slip-On model, featured in a quilted finish with tonal uppers and white midsoles. The pack consists of six different colors, including Black, Lemon Chrome, Fern Green, True Red, True Blue, and True White.

CASIO G-SHOCK 2009 July Releases

In the midst of a large scale global tour, the following will release out of the CASIO G-SHOCK camp for 2009 July. A number of releases revolve around their iconic offerings, the square-shaped DW-5600 and round-dial DW-6900. Another addition includes the more contemporary stylings of the G-8100. All in all, it’s nice to see some more colorful releases as these have traditionally been restricted to collaboration models. Look fro these at select CASIO G-SHOCK retailers in July.

HISTORY : MICHAEL JACKSON AND STEVIE WONDER IN THE STUDIO

One of many beautiful shots of Michael that's been circulating as of late, but this one is so classic. Michael and Stevie took to the studio together, after J-5's peak and talk about Michael growin up turned heads to how that would affect his career. Stevie was always an outspoken friend, supporter, defender of Michael. They released a few duets on each others' albums in the late 80s - Stevie on Bad (Just Good Friends) and Get It which was released on Stevie's '87 Character album. And, word on the street, they recorded an LP that was never released!! (Come on, Stevie, don't hold out on us any longer...) Anyway, this picture really struck a heart string, and if you have a minute, let that music nerd in you indulge in the article below.

HTC Introduces Third Android Phone

Smartphone makers HTC introduce their third Android-based phone, entitled the HTC Hero. The touchscreen-infused device continues the momentum of Google’s Android operating system with a few added features, including: a 3.2-inch display, GPS, digital compass, 5-megapixel auto focus camera and expandable MicroSD memory. The HTC Hero will also have an anti-fingerprint coating on the screen for smudge resistance and a Teflon coating on the exterior. Aside from those small details, the Hero will also become the first Android phone to support Adobe Flash, integrating the upcoming Flash Player 10. Other features include Twitter feeds, weather data, email/calendar widgets and a universal search functionality that looks through emails, contact list and other information.

The HTC Hero looks to make itself available in Europe this July and Asia later in the Summer. North American will see a release in the latter part of 2009, although price points have not be confirmed.

Italian car designer Pininfarina and French battery manufacturer Bolloré have officially announced that the five door Blue Car hatchback is now ready for production. A fully-electric vehicle with solar panels by 2010? Count us in!

The Grooved Spheres

Over the last few decades, miners in South Africa have been digging up mysterious metal spheres. Origin unknown, these spheres measure approximately an inch or so in diameter, and some are etched with three parallel grooves running around the equator. Two types of spheres have been found: one is composed of a solid bluish metal with flecks of white; the other is hollowed out and filled with a spongy white substance. The kicker is that the rock in which they where found is Precambrian - and dated to 2.8 billion years old! Who made them and for what purpose is unknown.
