While smartphone headlines are often dominated by the likes of the Apple iPhone, Palm Pre and Blackberry’s various offerings, the often over-looked Nokia E-Series recently received an update in the form of the E72. Set to replace a competent phone in its own regard, E71, the updated E72 brings to the table many of the same features of its predecessor in a candy bar QWERTY form. Notable updates though do include a 5 MP camera and 3.5 mm (standard-sized) headphone jack. With hopes of the Nokia app store Ovi reaching a somewhat comparable level to Apple’s app store, the Nokia E72 should be something to look over as a solid performer when it releases in the 3rd quarter of 2009 with a suggested retail price of $485 USD (without contract).
